On October 14, we held the first Case Speeding Task Force alongside the newly appointed Magistrate of the Court for Juvenile Offenders of the State of Durango: Mr. Álvaro Rodríguez Alcalá. Other juvenile justice system’s specialized workers were present during this meeting, such as Judges, personnel from the Transparency unit of the government, administrative secretaries, as well as Public Ministries and defense attorneys.
The attendees exchanged opinions highlighting their strengths and areas of opportunity to give continuity to the improvement of good practices in the State, as well as to cover the legal needs of the children, their families and society as a whole. Several agreements were reached related to reducing time to trial including new indicators that detect delays in a child’s detention process.
