Juvenile Justice Advocates International’s first ever summer legal intern started this week! We are welcoming Russel Payne to our team for the summer. Russell is a second year law student at the University of Minnesota law school in Minneapolis. This summer he will be interviewing detained children in Chihuahua, Mexico to help us learn more about their situations so that we can develop more effective programs and interventions.
Previously, Russell worked for the ProBAR Asylum Law Project interviewing detained migrants in Harlingen, Texas. He is also an accomplished professional swimmer.
We are incredibly excited for Russell to help us move this important work forward. Expect to hear more about Russell and his experiences this summer.[:]
